Ardy Kassakhian today announced that the membership of the Avance Democratic Club voted to endorse his campaign for Assembly District 43. Avance Democratic Club’s mission is to build political power, increase civic participation, and cultivate political leaders within the Latino community. With nearly 500 members, Avance is one of the largest and most active democratic clubs in Los Angeles County. “Avance Democratic Club is proud to support an honest and dedicated public servant like Ardy Kassakhian,” said the organization’s president Ana Guerrero. “Ardy convinced our membership that he has a keen understanding of the issues that impact the Latino community, and that is why he won our endorsement. Kassakhian is the only candidate in this race who has received official endorsements from Democratic organizations.

Ardy Kassakhian has demonstrated broad community support. Since launching his campaign last year, he has raised more than $470,000 and received endorsements from State Treasurer John Chiang, Secretary of State Alex Padilla, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, Congressman Brad Sherman, Assembly Speaker Emeritus John A. Pérez, Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon, Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian, Assembly Majority Leader Dario Frommer (Ret.), and Assemblymember Jackie Goldberg (Ret.). 

About Ardy Kassakhian

Ardy Kassakhian grew up and attended public schools in Glendale. He was first elected Glendale City Clerk in 2005. As Clerk, he has reduced government waste by introducing environmentally sound practices, made election information easier to access and worked to increase voter participation. Ardy graduated from UCLA and the Executive Program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He lives with his wife Courtney and their young son in Glendale.

Ardy Kassakhian is running to represent Assembly District 43, which includes the communities of Burbank, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose and the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Atwater Village, East Hollywood, Franklin Hills, Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz and Silver Lake.
