Korean American Democratic Committee (KADC) Endorses Ardy Kassakhian for Assembly

Ardy Kassakhian today announced that the membership of the Korean American Democratic Committee (KADC) voted to endorse his campaign for Assembly District 43. Established in 1992, KADC has mobilized and empowered the Korean-American community throughout Los Angeles County, and has served as the community’s bridge with the Democratic Party. In its endorsement statement, the organization noted: “The Korean American Democratic Committee (KADC) is proud to endorse Ardy Kassakhian for the 43rd Assembly District. Ardy represents our community’s values as an outspoken proponent for better public schools, safer neighborhoods, and a stronger economy. KADC cites Kassakhian’s commitment to Korean-American community’s values

GLENDALE – Ardy Kassakhian today announced that the membership of the Korean American Democratic Committee (KADC) voted to endorse his campaign for Assembly District 43. Established in 1992, KADC has mobilized and empowered the Korean-American community throughout Los Angeles County, and has served as the community’s bridge with the Democratic Party.

Ardy Kassakhian was the first public official from the City of Glendale to ever visit Korea, and was instrumental in establishing the Glendale-Korea sister city program.

With the endorsements of nearly a dozen Democratic organizations, including the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley, the Glendale Democratic Club, and Democrats for Neighborhood Action, Ardy Kassakhian has demonstrated broad community support. Since launching his campaign last year, he has raised more than $470,000 and received endorsements from State Treasurer John Chiang, Secretary of State Alex Padilla, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, Congressman Brad Sherman, Assembly Speaker Emeritus John A. Pérez, Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon, Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian, Assembly Majority Leader Dario Frommer (Ret.), and Assemblymember Jackie Goldberg (Ret.).

About Ardy Kassakhian

Ardy Kassakhian grew up and attended public schools in Glendale. He was first elected Glendale City Clerk in 2005. As Clerk, he has reduced government waste by introducing environmentally sound practices, made election information easier to access and worked to increase voter participation. Ardy graduated from UCLA and the Executive Program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He lives with his wife Courtney and their young son in Glendale.

Ardy Kassakhian is running to represent Assembly District 43, which includes the communities of Burbank, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose and the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Atwater Village, East Hollywood, Franklin Hills, Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz and Silver Lake.
