Ardy Kassakhian today announced that Los Angeles City Councilmember David Ryu has endorsed his campaign for Assembly District 43. Councilmember Ryu represents the Los Angeles communities of Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz, and Silver Lake that fall into Assembly District 43. “Los Angeles needs a strong partner in rebuilding our economy, promoting public safety, enhancing our schools, and restoring trust in government. Councilmember cites Ardy’s commitment to local neighborhoods

GLENDALE – Ardy Kassakhian today announced that Los Angeles City Councilmember David Ryu has endorsed his campaign for Assembly District 43. Councilmember Ryu represents the Los Angeles communities of Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz, and Silver Lake that fall into Assembly District 43.

Councilmember David Ryu adds his name to an expanding list of Los Angeles leaders backing Kassakhian’s candidacy, including L.A. City Councilmembers Paul Krekorian and Gil Cedillio, L.A. Community College Board President Scott J. Svonkin, and LAUSD Board President Steve Zimmer.

The official candidate of the Los Angeles Police Protective League, Ardy Kassakhian has demonstrated broad community support. Since launching his campaign last year, he has raised more than $470,000 and received endorsements from State Treasurer John Chiang, Secretary of State Alex Padilla, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, Congressman Brad Sherman, Assembly Speaker Emeritus John A. Pérez, Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon, Assembly Majority Leader Dario Frommer (Ret.), and Assemblymember Jackie Goldberg (Ret.).

About Ardy Kassakhian

Ardy Kassakhian grew up and attended public schools in Glendale. He was first elected Glendale City Clerk in 2005. As Clerk, he has reduced government waste by introducing environmentally sound practices, made election information easier to access and worked to increase voter participation. Ardy graduated from UCLA and the Executive Program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He lives with his wife Courtney and their young son in Glendale.
